Bengaluru: City police have taken seven men into custody as part of their probe into the case of imprisoned former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna using a mobile inside the central prison. They were the ones who provided a mobile phone, a charger, a pen drive and other materials to Prajwal, sources said.A senior police officer said prison officials were among those detained. “In a day, we will find out the roles played by these men in handing the mobile phone to Prajwal and helping him,” he said.During interrogation, undertrial prisoner Pratap, who shared the barrack with Prajwal, told cops that the former MP had the mobile when he (Pratap) walked into the facility.During a surprise raid on Aug 11, Central Crime Branch (CCB) found a smartphone, a charger and a pen drive in Prajwal’s barrack.“I saw him (Prajwal) secretly using the mobile phone in the barrack. He told me that he was using the phone for a few months. Using the same phone, I had called my advocate a few times,” investigating police quoted Pratap as saying. “Prajwal would contact his family, friends and advocates. But I don’t have any idea how Prajwal got the mobile phone,” he reportedly told police.
