Gurgaon: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly killed by a co-worker after a quarrel over a routine work-related task escalated into a fatal attack at a private company in Sector 37 on Saturday, police said.The accused, 35-year-old Aslam Mian, was arrested on Sunday and the scissors allegedly used in the attack were recovered, police said.The deceased, Shivani, had joined NDR Auto Components Pvt Ltd on July 13, less than two months before the incident. According to police, she and Aslam were working at the company when an argument broke out over sheet-cover cutting work. The quarrel escalated after Shivani allegedly slapped Aslam.Police said Aslam, in anger, attacked Shivani’s neck with a pair of scissors, leaving her critically injured. She was rushed to Vaidik Hospital on Pataudi Road in Kadipur, where she died during treatment.Police were informed about the incident on Saturday and a team reached the hospital. Shivani’s body was subsequently sent to the Gurgaon mortuary for post-mortem examination.The crime team and fingerprint experts inspected the company premises and collected evidence, including blood-stained clothes and other material believed to be relevant to the investigation.Shivani’s father approached police on Sunday and lodged a complaint stating that his daughter had sustained injuries during a quarrel with Aslam at the company and later died during treatment. A murder case was subsequently registered at Sector 37 police station.Police arrested Aslam from Sector 37 on Sunday. He is a resident of East Champaran district in Bihar.“On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered and the accused was arrested on September 6. The pair of scissors used in the offence was also recovered at his instance,” a police officer said.During questioning, Aslam allegedly told investigators that the dispute had started over the sheet-cover cutting work. Police are examining CCTV footage, forensic evidence and other material collected from the company to establish the sequence of events.Further investigation is underway.
