Nuh gets ₹205-cr development push; CM announces free coaching for govt job aspirants

Chandigarh: Nuh is set for a Rs 205-crore development push, with the Haryana govt approving several works and chief minister Nayab Singh Saini announcing free coaching for govt recruitment exams.Chairing the 32nd meeting of the Mewat Development Board at Nuh on Saturday, Saini approved an Annual Action Plan of Rs 30.4 crore for 2026-27, while separately inaugurating and laying foundation stones for 22 projects worth Rs 174.66 crore.The biggest project is a 100-bed District Civil Hospital in Nuh, to be built at the old CHC premises at a cost of Rs 155.4 crore. The CM also laid the foundation stones for several sub-health centres and block public health units across the district.Saini said Nuh was rapidly emerging as a hub for employment and self-employment opportunities and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative for its inclusion in the Aspirational Districts Programme. Under the programme, NITI Aayog has approved 12 projects worth Rs 36.2 crore for the district.Rs 10 crore for educationEducation emerged as the biggest priority under the Mewat Development Agency’s annual plan, with Rs 10.06 crore earmarked for strengthening got schools. The allocation includes dual desks, STEM labs in 20 schools, scholarships and coaching support.The CM announced free coaching for Mewat youth preparing for SSC, Railway Recruitment Board, Haryana Staff Selection Commission, CET and banking examinations.Another Rs 4.5 crore has been earmarked for social infrastructure, including renovation of the Pingwan sports stadium and development of a public park in Nuh. Skill development will get Rs 87 lakh, while Rs 1.5 crore has been allocated for agriculture and animal husbandry-related works.Sports infrastructure will also receive a boost, with proposals for a swimming pool and a 200-metre synthetic track at the district sports stadium. About Rs 5.4 crore has been approved for forestry, rainwater harvesting and soil conservation.The govt has also proposed a Rs 1.16-crore state-of-the-art cyber forensic laboratory in Nuh, signalling a focus on tackling the district’s cybercrime challenge through technology.Sewer network, sports and schoolsTo strengthen Nuh’s sewerage network, a 2,900-metre bypass sewer line will be laid using trenchless technology, benefiting nearly a dozen colonies.Among the other projects launched are a Rs 2.4-crore public park, Rs 1.8-crore renovation of Pingwan stadium, 100 model Anganwadi centres costing Rs 1.4 crore, girls’ toilets in 33 govt schools and hybrid solar plants in 14 Hathin schools.The CM also inaugurated a BPHU at Punhana and a TB office building at Mandikhera. Scholarships worth Rs 92 lakh were distributed to students under Mewat-specific scholarship schemes.Saini directed departments to complete all sanctioned works within deadlines and warned that quality lapses and delays would invite accountability, with progress reports to be presented at the next board meeting.
