Kurukshetra: The district and sessions court, Kurukshetra, has sentenced three men to life imprisonment for the murder of Sandeep Singh.The court also imposed fines of Rs 18,000 each on the three convicts — Manjit Singh, Pardeep and Sukhpal, all residents of Kheri Rajo Singh village in Patiala district.District attorney Jaimal said the case was filed on a complaint by Mohali resident Kuldeep Kaur on June 22, 2021. Her husband, Sandeep Singh, a farmer, commission agent and property dealer, had left home on June 21 in his car with his licensed revolver after receiving a call from his friend Manjit Singh over a payment-related matter.Sandeep later told his wife he was staying at a Patiala hotel. On June 23, he spoke to her from his phone. Sandeep appeared nervous and later said he was leaving for Chandigarh with Manjit. His phone was then switched off. The family was subsequently informed that Sandeep had been found dead in his car near the Bodhni canal.Kurukshetra police registered a case at Pehowa Sadar police station, and thereafter, arrested the accused.During Aug 27 hearing, the court convicted all three accused under Sections 364 (kidnapping), 346 (wrongful confinement), 392 (robbery), 302 (murder) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC. .
