Rakhi traffic plan bars goods vehicles on NH-9 for 2 days

Ghaziabad: Ahead of Rakshabandhan, the traffic department in Ghaziabad has announced a diversion plan under which goods vehicles will not be allowed on NH-9 from 8am on Aug 26 to midnight on Aug 28.According to ADCP (traffic) Varun Singh, traffic police expect excessive movement from Delhi, Ghaziabad and surrounding border areas, and especially heavy vehicular pressure on the main routes coming from Delhi.In order to avoid snarls and provide smooth, orderly and obstruction-free movement, a comprehensive and special traffic diversion plan will be put in place during this period, so that the general public does not have to face any kind of inconvenience in reaching their destination, he said.Under the plan, all types of vehicles going from Ghaziabad and Delhi towards Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly and Lucknow should take NH-9 or the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. All goods vehicles going from Ghaziabad and Delhi towards Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly and Lucknow can only use the Delhi-Meerut Expressway or the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. All goods vehicles will be prohibited from NH-9.
