Ghaziabad: The transport department has asked all schools in the district to ensure that vehicles in operation have valid and complete documents, including registration, fitness certificates, permits and insurance. Vehicles without complete documentation must not be used to transport children, officials said.Schools have also been asked to inform the regional transport office (RTO) in writing about scrapped vehicles and have them classified as “non-utilised vehicles”. “Registration of such vehicles must be cancelled. Ownership of sold vehicles should also be formally transferred to the buyer,” said a senior official.Officials said that diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol/CNG vehicles older than 15 years cannot be used for transporting children.
