Ahmedabad: A 22-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh was allegedly held with 199.5g of MD before it could be delivered in Ahmedabad. The drug haul is worth Rs 20 lakh, said police.Tipped off, the special operations group of the city crime branch intercepted Shakil Pathan on the Vatva-Isanpur Road near the gate of a dargah on Sunday.The police search and found drug worth Rs 19.9 lakh in his possession. Other items seized during the operation took the total value of the seized material to around Rs 20 lakh.According to police, Pathan, a resident of Ratlam, had allegedly travelled from his hometown to Ahmedabad with the contraband and was intercepted before completing its delivery.A case was registered at DCB police station under Sections 8(c), 22(c) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police are now trying to establish the source of the drugs and identify others allegedly linked to the supply network.
