Panchkula: Eligible voters in Panchkula can file claims and objections, correct errors in electoral rolls and apply for inclusion in the voter list till Aug 30 under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.Hearings on claims and objections will be held from July 31 to Aug 30. Voters whose names, parents’ names or other details contain errors have been asked to approach the designated assistant electoral registration officer (AERO) with supporting documents within the stipulated period.Citizens who turned 18 on or before July 1, 2026, can also apply for enrolment during this period.The draft electoral rolls for Kalka assembly constituency, with 1,65,497 voters, and Panchkula assembly constituency, with 1,64,023 voters, will be published on July 31.Meanwhile, a one-day training programme for 17 AEROs was organised at the mini secretariat. Officers were trained to download and issue notices in cases requiring verification, including instances where parental or grandparental details could not be linked to the 2002 electoral roll or where discrepancies were found in voter records.After receiving notices, electors can submit the required documents before the AERO concerned for correction of errors.
