Warangal: The Warangal commissionerate police arrested seven members of a gang in connection with the murder of a Congress leader on Sunday.Speaking to reporters, commissioner of police (CP) N Swetha said that an investigation was launched based on a complaint lodged by Nagalakshmi, the wife of Congress leader A Mahesh, who was burnt to death. Following the investigation, the accused were arrested and remanded in judicial custody.The prime accused, Pathri Kumar, who was out on bail in a murder case, allegedly conspired to eliminate Mahesh due to political rivalry. Police said Kumar was also upset with Wardhannapet MLA KR Nagaraju and subsequently planned the murder.On the night of July 18, Kumar, along with his associates G Naresh, G Madhu, P Srinivas (a native of Medak), Suresh (still absconding), L Ramsai, T Sanjaiah and P Shiva Kumar (a resident of Secunderabad), allegedly set Mahesh ablaze on Road No.
