Hyderabad: The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) has initiated action against the organisers of a three-day Fellowship in Cellular and Regenerative Medicine (FCRM) programme conducted at a hotel in Karmanghat, alleging that participants were provided unauthorised hands-on training by a BDS-qualified dentist instead of qualified medical specialists.According to the council, participants, including MBBS graduates, dentists, AYUSH practitioners, radiologists, anaesthetists, general physicians and urologists, claimed they had enrolled in the programme after being informed that the training would be conducted by dermatologists and anaesthetists. However, an inspection allegedly revealed that the sessions were instead being led by a dentist registered with the Maharashtra dental council.

The council stated that training in regenerative medicine training should be imparted only by appropriately qualified professionals in accordance with established medical standards. It warned that unauthorised programmes pose serious risks to patient safety and professional ethics.TGMC said it would place the inspection findings before its general body, forward the report to the Telangana and Maharashtra dental councils for appropriate action, and initiate steps to register an FIR against the organisers for allegedly conducting unauthorised training programmes. The council reiterated its commitment to curbing unethical medical training practices and safeguarding public health.
