Rajkot: A fire broke out on Wednesday noon at a bungalow on Amin Marg, one of Rajkot’s upscale localities, triggering brief panic in the area. Firefighters from the Rajkot Municipal Corporation’s Kalawad Road fire station rushed to the spot after receiving the alert and brought the blaze under control within minutes.Kalawad Road fire station officer Tejas Gadhvi said the fire originated from the second floor of the ground-plus-two-storey bungalow. A team of around 10 firefighters, led by the station officer, deployed two fire tenders and continuously sprayed water for nearly 15 minutes before extinguishing the flames.Preliminary findings, based on information provided by homeowner Mukesh Desani, indicate that the fire may have been triggered by a short circuit. Five members of the family were inside the house when the blaze broke out but managed to evacuate safely after noticing the fire. No injuries or fatalities were reported.According to the fire department, the fire extensively damaged furniture, electronic appliances and other household belongings in the second-floor room, hall and kitchen. Officials have launched a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident and assess the total extent of the damage.
