Guwahati: Assam plans to blend tea and golf into a premium tourism circuit.The budget on Friday proposed the Assam Tea and Golf Trail to attract high-value domestic and international tourists. Announcing the initiative, finance minister Jayanta Malla Baruah said the circuit would link the state’s tea estates with its championship golf courses to offer a distinctive travel experience.Assam has three 18-hole championship golf courses and 10 nine-hole courses, many located within scenic tea estates. The govt plans to develop the trail in partnership with tea estates, the tourism and hospitality industry, and local communities.
