The Haryana Government on Friday ordered a major reshuffle of Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, appointing a new Police Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Panchkula along with transferring several other senior officers.According to the orders issued by the Home Department, 2007-batch IPS officer Pankaj Nain has been appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Panchkula. Before his new posting, he was serving as Special Officer (Community Policing and Outreach) in the Chief Minister’s Office while also holding the additional charge of Inspector General of Police (Security), CID Headquarters, and Inspector General of Police, Ambala Range. He will continue to hold these additional responsibilities.The government has also appointed Aditi Singh (2021 batch) as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police, Panchkula. She was earlier posted as Superintendent of Police in the State Vigilance Bureau and Anti-Corruption Bureau.The outgoing DCP, Srishti Gupta (2021 batch), has been transferred as Assistant Inspector General (Welfare) at the Haryana Police Headquarters. She has also been given the additional charge of Superintendent of Police, Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB).The reshuffle includes several other senior IPS officers. Director General of Police Arshinder Singh Chawla, who heads the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, has been assigned the additional charge of Director General (Prisons), Haryana. Kala Ramachandran has been given the additional responsibility of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Madhuban, while Nazneen Bhasin, Lokendra Singh, Upasana and Varun Singla have been assigned new responsibilities relating to the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).The transfer and posting orders, issued by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sudhir Rajpal, came into immediate effect. The reshuffle is aimed at strengthening policing and improving administrative efficiency across the state.
