Ludhiana: Municipal commissioner Ojasvi Alankar Tuesday carried out surprise inspections across several parts of Ludhiana, interacting directly with residents to assess civic issues and gather feedback aimed at improving service delivery at the ground level.The commissioner visited areas including RK Road, Sherpur village, Jamalpur Colony, Metro Road and Cheema Chowk, moving through internal localities to take stock of residents’ concerns firsthand. Officials said the exercise was aimed at enhancing efficiency and transparency in civic services by understanding ground realities directly from the public.Alankar said strict instructions had already been issued to civic officials that no laxity in cleanliness would be tolerated. He stressed that regular feedback from residents was essential for identifying shortcomings and improving municipal services.The commissioner also directed zonal commissioners and health branch officials to remain in the field on a daily basis and intensify efforts to maintain cleanliness across the city.Appealing for public cooperation, Alankar urged residents not to dump waste in open spaces and vacant plots. He said surprise inspections would continue in the coming days and warned that strict departmental action would be taken if irregularities were found during field visits.
