Gurgaon: A three-year-old boy was found with his throat slit inside a house in Shiv Durga Vihar in Faridabad on Sunday morning, prompting police to question family members present at the time of the incident.A murder case has been registered on the complaint of the child’s maternal grandfather, Shriram (47), a native of Ballia in Uttar Pradesh.Police said they received information around 10 am and rushed to the house, where the child was found dead. Investigators are now trying to reconstruct the sequence of events and ascertain how the child was attacked despite the presence of relatives in the house. The child’s father works at a call centre in Faridabad, while his mother, Sudha, is a homemaker. The family had recently shifted to the locality. Police said neighbours were unable to provide much information about them.Family members, including the child’s maternal grandparents, aunt and other relatives, had gathered at the house during the school holiday period.“The child was staying with his maternal grandparents in Shiv Durga Vihar. His mother lost her first husband around two years ago and remarried in 2025. The child was from her first marriage,” a police officer said.A senior officer said statements of all family members present in the house were being recorded. “We are examining all possible angles, including the involvement of someone known to the family.
