Hyderabad: Hyderabad: Dundigal police have registered a criminal case against three juvenile students of a govt school for allegedly sexually abusing two of their juniors. According to police, the two survivors – both class 5 students — were allegedly assaulted by the three boys inside the hostel premises of the residential school. The juveniles in conflict with law are students of classes 6 and 8. “The offence allegedly took place late on the night of July 27, when the two survivors were asleep in their hostel room. The three seniors forcibly woke them up and sexually abused them,” said an official from Dundigal police station, referring to the complaint filed by one of the survivor’s parents. Police said that the two junior boys did not report the incident either to the hostel management or other staff, due to fear. “On Aug 1, when one of the boys went home, his family noticed that he was unable to sit comfortably. He also complained of pain. On being questioned, the boy narrated the ordeal at the hostel,” said Majlis Bachao Tahreek’s (MBT) spokesperson, Amjadullah Khan, who has been in touch with the survivor’s family.He claimed that the family first approached the school seeking an explanation but went to the police after receiving no response from the management. Based on their compliant, Dundigal police registered a criminal case for violation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) against the three juveniles on Aug 2. While Khan alleged that the police delayed medical examination of the survivors, the police refuted the charges.“We are in the process of examining the juveniles in conflict with law. We are also questioning the hostel staff and other students as part of the investigation,” an official said.
