Surat: A 13-year-old boy died by suicide in Rander area of Surat in the early hours of Tuesday, police said.According to police, Sujal Patel was a Class VIII student at Swaminarayan School in Rander. On Monday night, his mother scolded him for using his mobile phone while having dinner and asked him to put the phone aside.Police said the boy became upset following the incident. His family later found him unresponsive at their rented home in Bhuvneshwari Society and rushed him to a nearby private hospital. He died after receiving treatment for around three hours.Rander police have registered an accidental death case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.Sujal’s father is a tempo driver and the family was living in a rented house, police added.
