Chandigarh: The body of 10‑year‑old Satyam, missing since Friday evening, was recovered from a pond inside the forest near Kishangarh IT Park on Saturday morning. The pond lies about 2km inside a wooded area.Satyam, a Class IV student at a govt school, was the only son of his parents. His father, Om Prakash, an auto driver, said the boy had gone out to play but did not return. The family searched at friends’ houses and in the neighbourhood but found no trace of the boy.After receiving the complaint, IT Park police registered a kidnapping case against unknown persons. The SHO formed three search teams. One team learned from a child that Satyam had spoken about wanting to bathe at the pond earlier in the evening.Police teams combed the area through the night. On Saturday morning, one team spotted the body in the pond and informed senior officials. The SHO reached the site with the parents. A mobile forensic unit arrived after trekking 1.5 hours through dense forest, as vehicles could not enter.Videography and photography were conducted before the body was shifted to GMSH‑16 mortuary. A board of doctors will be constituted Sunday, with post‑mortem scheduled Monday.
