Gurgaon: Ten people have been arrested for allegedly killing a 35-year-old daily-wage labourer in Sector 45 after an earlier altercation involving his child, police said.The accused dragged Babulal out of his hutment on Monday and attacked him with sticks, batons, knives and other weapons, police said. The assault took place a day after Babulal and the accused were involved in a physical altercation. In her complaint, Babulal’s wife alleged that the accused had abused the couple’s child.Police said some of the accused had earlier gone to Babulal’s hutment, leading to a heated exchange between the two sides. During the scuffle, two of the accused were beaten up and sustained injuries. The accused allegedly returned later in revenge, dragged Babulal out of his hutment and thrashed him. His wife said he died on the way to hospital. The accused, all labourers living in slum areas in Samsapur and Kanhai, were arrested on Tuesday.Police said they received information about a fight in Sector 45 on Monday and reached the spot. By the time the police team arrived, Babulal had been taken to hospital. “Crime scene and fingerprint teams examined the spot. Police subsequently received information that the injured man had succumbed to his injuries. A murder case was registered at Sector 40 police station on the basis of Babulal’s wife’s complaint,” a police spokesperson said.Acting on the complaint, a Sector 40 police station team arrested 10 accused from different parts of Gurgaon on Tuesday. The accused have been identified as Narayan of Hatta village in Damoh, Pramod of Surekha Colony in Damoh, Rafiful Alam alias Munna of Dhumsargachhi village in Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal, Ramesh of Sojna village in Damoh, Rahul of Batiyagarh in Damoh, Anil of Sojna in Damoh, Biju of Imliya Rawal in Damoh, Balkishan of Hatta in Damoh, Rajaram of Papariya Sai in Damoh and Rakibul alias Rakesh of Murshidabad, West Bengal.“The accused will be produced in court, where cops will seek their custody for further interrogation and recovery of weapons and other evidence,” Sandeep Turan said.
