Silchar: Assam Rifles and Cachar police seized drugs valued at Rs 1.4 crore and arrested three alleged peddlers on Wednesday.Acting on intelligence, the joint team conducted an operation in the Ujjain-Tarapur area under Lakhipur, recovering around 8,000 Yaba tablets weighing 850 grams and 93.3 grams of heroin concealed in four soap cases.Officials estimated the contraband’s value at Rs 1.4 crore in the illicit market. The team also seized a car and three mobile phones allegedly used to transport the drugs and coordinate their trade.The three accused, all Cachar residents, were handed over to police along with the seized items for further investigation and legal action.Officials said the operation was part of an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in the region.
