Kolkata: National English School hosted the prestigious Frank Anthony Memorial All-India Inter-School Debate Competition (category II) on July 24.Organised by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), the regional event drew accomplished young debaters from various city schools. The competition provided a dynamic platform for eloquence, rigorous intellectual exchange, and healthy rivalry among the students.The competition was held in the school auditorium, equipped with modern facilities ensuring the smooth and efficient conduct of the proceedings. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising the pursuit of knowledge, wisdom, and enlightenment. This was followed by a graceful welcome dance by the students of National English School, setting a warm and dignified tone for the day.Principal Mousumi Saha and rector Samir Kumar Saha attended the event, extending their support and encouragement to the young participants.The debate unfolded in an atmosphere of mutual respect and intellectual curiosity as participants presented well-researched arguments and thoughtful rebuttals on a stimulating topic.
