Bengaluru: A woman, who shared sex tips and engaged in sex education on social media, became the target of a 23-year-old driver, who police say created multiple fake accounts in her name and used them to dupe people of money on the pretext of online sexting and video calls.The accused, identified as Akash from Mysuru, was arrested by Byadarahalli police three days ago.The 37-year-old social media influencer had filed a complaint on Aug 30, stating that an unknown person had created multiple Facebook and Telegram accounts using her photograph as the display picture. The accused used to offer services, receive money from many people online and cheat them.According to police, Akash created fake accounts on Telegram using the identities of two women, one who shared sex tips and another who invited users for sex chats in Jan this year. He used videos posted by the women and created fake profiles in their names.Akash, posing as women, then engaged users in chats and persuaded them to transfer money. He is suspected of having collected lakhs. He used to target at least three persons a day and receive up to Rs 300 from each.The fraud came to light when someone informed the complainant about the amount received and the service not provided. Akash was arrested and remanded in judicial custody. Though Akash owns a car and works as a cab driver, he was not regular at work.
