Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday expressed his appreciation for Narendra Modi soon after the Prime Minister lauded the efforts of UP govt for making the tree plantation drive successful.While praising UP’s contribution to the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign during Mann Ki Baat, Modi said under the BJP govt, UP has taken giant strides in environmental and ecological protection and in improving the green cover. Modi added that results were achieved only due to strong public participation.Modi commended the state for planting more than 35 crore saplings in a single day on July 12, calling it an extraordinary demonstration of people’s power. He said the achievement was a matter of special pride for him since he is an elected representative from the same state. Modi added that citizens across the country were fulfilling their responsibility towards nature.

Chief minister Yogi said through such initiatives the double-engine govt has established that a society sensitive to nature can help build a strong foundation for a Viksit Bharat. He affirmed that the state would continue strengthening its commitment to environmental conservation, public participation and green development under the Prime Minister’s guidance.
