Gorakhpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday directed officials to take stringent action against land mafia and influential persons involved in illegal land encroachments while hearing the grievances of around 200 people during the Janata Darshan programme at Gorakhnath Temple.The CM said ensuring the redressal of public grievances without discrimination was the govt’s responsibility. People from different districts of the state attended the public hearing and submitted their complaints directly to him.He stressed that complaints related to illegal land occupation should be dealt with firmly and warned against any leniency towards offenders.Several people sought financial assistance for the treatment of serious illnesses. He directed officials to expedite the preparation of medical estimates so that eligible beneficiaries could receive govt assistance without delay.Yogi also reviewed complaints related to revenue matters and law and order, directing authorities to ensure their speedy resolution. In cases involving family disputes, he asked officials to facilitate dialogue between the parties and work towards amicable settlements.After the Janata Darshan, the CM offered prayers at Gorakhnath Temple and paid tributes to his guru, the late Mahant Avaidyanath. He later visited the temple cowshed, reviewed its arrangements and fed jaggery to the cows.
