Lucknow/Gautam Budh Nagar: Pitching UP as India’s largest consumer market backed by a youthful demographic and robust infrastructure, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday invited global industry leaders to invest across core sectors, including defence, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, heavy machinery and wood technology.Chairing a high-level roundtable with delegations from partner nations—Singapore, Vietnam, Russia, Belarus, Japan, and Austria—on the sidelines of the fourth Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) in Greater Noida, Yogi highlighted the state’s industrial capabilities and export potential. “UP is not only the country’s largest state with a population of nearly 25 crore, but also a vast market powered by a young workforce, fertile land and abundant water resources,” the CM said, urging partner countries to establish and scale their manufacturing footprints here.Engaging with the Vietnamese delegation, Yogi pitched YEIDA region for manufacturing and proposed direct air links connecting Lucknow, Varanasi and Noida with Hanoi to stimulate bilateral trade and tourism.During talks with Russian representatives, the CM spotlighted defence and healthcare. Noting that BrahMos missile and AK-203 rifle manufacturing units are already operational in the state, Yogi invited Russian players to invest in Kanpur node of Defence Corridor, Medical Device Park near Noida airport and Lalitpur’s Bulk Drug Park.Meeting the Belarusian delegation, Yogi invited heavy equipment and tractor manufacturers to set up assembly plants, alongside pitching for modern woodcraft technology for ODOP clusters in Saharanpur and Bijnor.The CM also reviewed the proposed Singapore City project with Singapore High Commissioner Simon Wong, held bilateral talks with Japan’s Ambassador Ono Keiichi to deepen cultural and economic ties and invited Austrian clean-tech and precision engineering firms to explore joint ventures in the state’s expanding industrial corridors.Deliberations at the special ‘Russia-India Business Dialogue’ focused on expanding economic cooperation across industrial technology, specialized gas systems, diagnostic solutions and medical equipment.Senior Russian delegates, including trade commissioner Andrei Sobolev and deputy trade commissioner Dr Yevgeny Griva, engaged with UP’s healthcare, tech and manufacturing sectors to explore direct B2B linkages, tech exchanges and joint ventures.Russian representatives noted that UPITS offered an ideal platform to evaluate the state’s industrial landscape and forge enterprise partnerships in critical infrastructure, medical oxygen ecosystems and advanced business services, paving the way for increased bilateral trade and investment flow.
