Jaipur: Young players from Rajasthan performed brilliantly and won four medals at the Indian Junior Open Squash 2026, held in Kolkata from October 19 to 24. In addition to India, players from Hong Kong, Malaysia, the United States, Sri Lanka, and Singapore participated in the six-day tournament.Surbhi Misra, director of the Squash Academy at the SMS Stadium, said that in the girls’ Under-11 category, Gauravi Ajmera defeated Sharanya Ghosh 11-1, 11-2, 11-9 in the semifinals but lost to Naira Fatinraisyah Nasrul Hazim 7-11, 11-9, 9-11, 4-11 in the final and settled for a silver medal.Farid Adrawi also won a silver medal in the Boys Under-15 category. In the semifinals, he trounced Ruan Ram Tadanki in straight games, 11-3, 11-7, 12-10. However, Dhruv Johri rallied back to beat Farid in the final, 5-11, 11-3, 11-7, 11-6.

In the Girls Under-15 category, Divyanshi Jain stormed into the final after a close contest. She edged past Gaushika M 5-11, 11-5, 7-11, 11-9, 11-8 in the semis. Anika Kalanki halted the impressive run of Divyanshi 14-12, 11-6, 11-6 in the final to claim the gold medal. Divyanshi had to contend with the silver medal.In the Boys Under-11 category, Yuvan Verma lost to Agastya Uppal 11-5, 6-11, 6-11, 9-11 in the semifinals. Then, in the third-fourth place play-off match, Yuvan made a remarkable comeback to down Viraj Wadhwani 11-8, 4-11, 11-8, 8-11, 11-8 to grab the bronze medal.
