Chandigarh: Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Chandigarh, celebrated Yatri Sewa Diwas as part of a nationwide observance across Airports Authority of India (AAI) airports. The event featured a series of passenger-centric, cultural, educational and welfare activities aimed at enhancing passenger experience and recognising the contribution of airport staff.Enthusiastic participation of passengers, students, airport employees and stakeholders reflected the airport’s commitment to service excellence, community engagement and social responsibility.Highlights of the event included installation of dedicated selfie points for passengers, vibrant Bhangra performances showcasing Punjab’s rich cultural heritage, a drawing competition for school students, and a career guidance session providing insights into opportunities in the aviation sector.A magic show was organised for children, while a collective rendition of “Vande Mataram” fostered a spirit of patriotism.A tree plantation drive was conducted under the national initiative “Ek ped maa ke naam” to promote environmental sustainability.The airport also organised a health check-up camp for employees and passengers. Travellers were welcomed with traditional tilak ceremonies and gifts were distributed as a token of appreciation.
