Woman, two minor sons murder man after quarrel

Surat: The discovery of a 36-year-old man’s body in a canal in the Salabatpura area on Aug 22 turned out to be a murder, with police arresting a 33-year-old woman and booking her two minor sons, aged 15 and 16 years, for the crime.The victim, Imran Khan Pathan, had gone missing on the morning of Aug 21. His body was found in a canal near the BRTS bus stop at Bhathena the following morning. A post-mortem examination revealed at least 18 injuries on various parts of his body, including his face, prompting police to launch a murder investigation.During the probe, police found that Pathan had a quarrel with the woman a few days before the incident. According to investigators, Pathan was beating a man identified as Azzu when the woman intervened and asked him to stop. Pathan allegedly turned on her and assaulted her as well.The woman reportedly held a grudge over the incident and decided to confront Pathan with the help of her two minor sons.On Aug 21, the trio allegedly spotted Pathan near the Bhathena Cross Road bridge around 4am and attacked him. Police said they assaulted him with a cement stone and sticks and also kicked and punched him. After the assault, the three allegedly dragged his body and dumped it into a nearby canal.Salabatpura police have arrested the woman and detained her two minor sons in connection with the murder. Further investigation is underway.
