Jaisalmer: A 21-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide by hanging herself at her maternal grandparents’ home in Barmer city Saturday. Police suspect a love affair may have been a possible reason behind the incident.Police said the deceased, identified as Vaishali, a resident of Indira Colony under the Kotwali police station area in Barmer, had been living at her maternal grandparents’ home. On Saturday, she went into her room and did not open the door for a long time.When family members broke open the door, they found her hanging from a ceiling fan hook. They informed the police, who reached the spot and, in the presence of family members and local residents, brought down the body. The body was shifted to the mortuary of the govt hospital.Police said preliminary investigation indicated that a love affair may have been linked to the suspected suicide, but the exact circumstances are being investigated.The body will be handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination by a medical board. Further action will be taken based on a complaint from the family.
