Varanasi: A 21-year-old woman was arrested in Azamgarh on Sunday for allegedly throwing acid on her husband’s private parts following a heated exchange with him at her parental house. The victim was admitted to a hospital in serious condition.Gambhirpur police said the accused was arrested after an FIR was filed on her husband’s complaint. The acid bottle allegedly used in the attack was also recovered.Gambhirpur police station in charge Amit Kumar Tripathi said a named FIR was lodged against the woman under Section 124(1) (acid attack) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The man had gone to his in-laws’ house on Saturday to meet his wife. He alleged that during an argument with his wife, she poured acid on his private part, leaving him seriously injured.
