Guwahati: Vice-President of India CP Radhakrishnan is scheduled to undertake a four-day visit to Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh from Sept 6 to 9, with academic, cultural and public engagements across the four northeastern states.The visit will begin in Guwahati on Sunday, where VP will attend the golden jubilee celebrations of Geetanagar College, formerly known as Kanya Mahavidyalaya. He will also attend the convocation ceremony of Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS).On Sept 7, Radhakrishnan will attend a foundation stone-laying programme at Gauhati University and interact with students, faculty members and leading citizens at the university’s Convention Centre.He will later travel to Shillong, where he will attend a public reception and cultural programme at U Soso Tham Auditorium.On Sept 8, VP will visit Imphal and INA Museum and War Memorial at Moirang, as well as Sainik School Imphal. He will then travel to Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh.On Sept 9, Radhakrishnan will attend a special session of the Arunachal Pradesh legislative assembly and visit the assembly gallery-cum-museum. His itinerary also includes visits to Nyedar Namlo, Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum and Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing and Visually Impaired.The four-day tour will take VP to academic, cultural, historical and public institutions across the northeast.
