Hyderabad: Despite voting in the last elections, nearly 20% to 25% of voters living in gated communities in Cyberabad are reportedly unable to find their names in the latest electoral rolls and have not received enumeration forms so far. Many voters said they receive a “No Result Found” message when searching for their details using their EPIC numbers. “We are receiving many complaints from residents stating that their names are missing from the electoral rolls. Around 25% of voters, who had voted even in the last elections, are unable to find their names now,” said Sai Ravi Shanker, president of the Federation of Gated Communities, Cyberabad, which represents 68 gated communities in the region with a population of about 22 lakh. Some residents also pointed out that booth level officers (BLOs) have neither visited their communities nor distributed enumeration forms. “In the last Lok Sabha elections, I voted at a school in Gowlidoddy. Now, I am unable to find my name in the electoral roll. Although my husband and daughter have their EPIC cards, they too have not received enumeration forms, as no BLO has visited our community so far,” said Kanaka Lakshmi K, a resident of a gated community in Gachibowli. She added that if BLOs visited their community, residents could at least enquire with them and figure out why their names were missing from the rolls.Meanwhile, activists assisting voters in obtaining enumeration forms said that while many people are unable to find their names in the electoral rolls, BLOs are also facing difficulties because several forms lack proper addresses and clear photographs, making it difficult to identify voters. “In Serilingampally constituency, about 35,000 forms are yet to be distributed. In Rajendranagar, nearly 70,000 voters remain untraced, and their forms are still with BLOs. While some voters are unable to find their names in the latest electoral roll because they have been shifted to new booths, BLOs are unable to trace many voters,” said Sridhar Yadav, an activist. The issue is, however, is not limited to Cyberabad, as voters in several other parts of the city are also finding their names missing. “I voted in the last elections, but now my name is missing. We even tried searching for my details online, but received an error,” said A Ramalinga Murty, an 88-year-old voter. Interestingly, as per the data released by CEO, Telangana, 100% of enumeration forms have been distributed in the state.
