Fazilka: A 29-year-old veterinarian was found murdered with severe head and facial injuries inside an unoccupied house in Abohar town of Punjab’s Fazilka district Sunday morning.Farm workers spotted the body of Dr Amandeep Singh, a resident of Gidranwali village, inside the vacant property surrounded by fields. The house belongs to a local, who is currently serving as a sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) in Patiala.Preliminary investigations indicate Dr Amandeep Singh was killed with a sharp, pointed weapon, though the murder weapon has not been recovered yet. Police identified him using his mobile phone and shifted the body to a mortuary for autopsy.“We have recorded statements from the family and initiated an investigation,” a police officer said, adding that the motive and suspects remain unknown.Police are questioning farm workers who maintain the property and residents in the surrounding area.According to Des Raj, the village sarpanch, Dr Amandeep was the eldest of three siblings, including a brother and a sister.
