Jaipur: Jaipur Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal Friday inaugurated an Integrated Traffic Public Facilitation Centre at Yadgar Building, bringing multiple traffic-related services under one roof.Calling it a positive initiative for public, Mittal said the centre would enable individuals to complete various traffic-related formalities at a single location.Deputy Commissioner of Police ( Traffic) Yogesh Goyal said people earlier had to visit different offices for services such as challan settlement, issuance of no-objection certificates (NOCs), traffic counselling and awareness-related work, causing inconvenience. “To address this, this Centre was set up to consolidate the operations,” Goyal said.The centre will facilitate settlement of compoundable traffic challans, provide information on challans issued for traffic violations, process licence suspension-related cases and issue NOCs. It will also receive and address traffic-related grievances from the public; even the traffic education and counselling wing will operate from the facility, officials said.Traffic police intensify drive against modified silencers, pressure hornsTo curb noise pollution, Jaipur traffic police have launched a special enforcement drive against vehicles fitted with modified silencers and pressure horns. A traffic official said police crushed more than 175 seized modified or illegal silencers, 30 pressure horns and more than 350 illegal bumpers using a road roller to render them unusable. During the campaign, police took action against more than 2,000 motorists using modified silencers and registered 502 cases. Another 402 cases were registered against motorists found using pressure horns.
