Noida: Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) has installed cameras at 90 construction sites across Noida to monitor dust-control measures, including installation of water sprinklers, anti-smog guns and wind-breaking walls, as a part of its efforts to check winter smog.“We have surveyed the sites and are now putting up PTZ cameras for surveillance. Cameras are already in place at 90 sites, and we will continue to add more. A control room is also being set up with CAQM in Delhi to monitor dust mitigation measures,” an UPPCB official said, adding that developers have been sent notices to adhere to NGT guidelines.As per the guidelines laid down by the tribunal, builders should put up green barriers and wind-breaking walls around construction sites, keep construction material, such as sand, gravel and cement, covered, keep construction waste covered, install sprinklers to settle dust and provide masks and gloves to construction workers.Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has also directed that anti-smog guns should be installed at construction sites in proportion to the built-up area — from at least one anti-smog gun for every 5,000 to 10,000 sqm to four for projects above 20,000 sqm.At J Kumar Infra Projects, which is completing a residential project in Sector 76, safety department official Vipin Kumar Yadav said a sprinkler sprays the tyres of every vehicle leaving the site. “A tanker is kept on the premises, and the whole site is sprinkled three to four times a day to keep dust down,” he said. Another official from the company said an anti-smog gun was deployed at the site’s entrance.
