Gandhinagar: Union home and cooperation minister Amit Shah will visit the state on Saturday. He will chair the Gandhinagar district development coordination and monitoring committee and preside over a meeting to review the status of the ‘Hariyali Gandhinagar Lok Sabha’ project. The party statement said he will also take part in a ‘lok darbar’ in the Sabarmati assembly constituency later in the evening.

Chairpersons to special AMC committees appointedChairpersons and members of various special committees were appointed for a two-and-a-half-year term at the general board meeting of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on Thursday. Dharamshi Desai from Bodakdev will head the water supply committee, while Jainik Vakil from Paldi will take charge of the road and building committee. Deepak Panchal from Nikol will lead the health and solid waste management committee, and Bhagyesh Patel from Jodhpur will chair the town planning committee. Other key appointments include Jitendra Khachariya to the recreational and heritage committee, Vipul Patel (legal committee), Mukesh Patel (revenue), Dr Chandni Patel (hospitals), and Darshan Shah (housing and improvement). Hitendra Parmar, councillor from Shahpur will head the e-governance and material management committee while Dimpal Vardayani will take over the women and child development committee. Hitesh Barot was appointed to the staff selection committee and to the board of management of Sheth VS General Hospital.BRTS routes modified for Muharram processionsAhmedabad Janmarg Limited has announced modifications to BRTS bus routes on Friday, for the Muharram (Tajiya) processions. Starting at 1.30pm, Route 07 (Narol to Sarangpur Darwaza) and Route 101 (RTO Circular) will be entirely suspended. Partial diversions will affect Routes 02, 11, 09, and 14. Operations at 16 specific BRTS stations, including Kalupur, Sarangpur Darwaza, and Astodia, will remain temporarily closed until further notice.
