Hyderabad: Several residents across Greater Hyderabad alleged that booth-level officers (BLOs) had failed to distribute or collect enumeration forms (EFs), leaving many struggling to complete the exercise before Monday’s submission deadline.While some said they had submitted the forms online, others said they were unable to do so due to mismatches between the details on their EPIC cards and Aadhaar. The last three days, being public holidays, only added to their woes, as BLOs were unavailable to collect the forms.“Forget about collecting the form; till now we have not even received it. I have been calling the BLO, but the forms have still not been shared. When I called on Sunday, she said she was in her village for Bonalu, and there was nothing she could do as the forms were at her house, which was locked,” said a resident of Attapur.Another voter, Sathya V, said, “Even to get a form, I had to make multiple calls to the BLO. Now, they are not coming to collect it, saying they are at some other location. I don’t know what to do, as today is the last day to submit the enumeration form.”As per the details released by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Telangana, 58.5% of forms have been digitised in Hyderabad, 64.9% in Ranga Reddy, and 63.8% in Medchal-Malkajgiri districts.However, activists alleged that a majority of these forms had not even been distributed to residents in Greater Hyderabad.“For no fault of theirs, voters could find their names missing from the electoral rolls. We have been receiving several complaints over the last few days. As the last three days were public holidays, we have not been able to help them either,” said Syed Jalaluddin, president of Youth For Telangana. He added that due to name mismatches, many voters were also unable to submit their forms online.BLOs, however, said voters should not blame them for forms not being collected at the last minute. “The deadline has been extended twice. People did not bother to collect the forms earlier and are now calling us to distribute them when we are away from the city for the festival,” a BLO from the Rajendranagar constituency said.
