Panaji: The body of 76-year-old Sebastine Fernandes of Sirlim, Dramapur, Salcete, was found in a decomposed state inside her residence. Police said preliminary enquiries revealed that she was living alone. A neighbour alerted the police after discovering her death.The body has been preserved at South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, for medico-legal formalities. Margao police are investigating the case.In another incident, 81-year-old Chandrakant Taluvenekar of Varconda, Pernem, died while undergoing treatment at the male ward of SGDH, Margao. Police said enquiries revealed that he was admitted to the hospital after suffering a fall in the washroom of a flat in Ambaji, Fatorda, owned by his nephew, Chandan Naik. Relatives told the police that the senior citizen sustained head injuries in the fall.The body has been preserved at SGDH, Margao, for medico-legal formalities. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sanil Sawant Dessai of Fatorda police station.
