Ludhiana: Khanna police have arrested two drug peddlers following the recovery of 60kg of poppy husk from a car in Ber Khurd village, Malaud.SSP Darpan Ahluwalia said that on April 20, a patrolling team intercepted a car being driven by Harmanpreet Singh Dhaliwal, a local resident. During a search of the vehicle, two plastic bags containing the contraband were found on the rear seat.During interrogation, Dhaliwal named an accomplice, Navjot Singh of Lopon village. Police subsequently arrested Navjot on Tuesday.Both men have a criminal record. Dhaliwal faces three previous cases of drug and liquor smuggling, while Navjot is an accused in one drug-related case. Investigating officers are now questioning the duo to identify the source of the consignment and the intended recipients.
