Gurgaon: A Haryana Police traffic constable was among four people injured, while two people were killed in four separate road accidents in Gurgaon between Aug 26 and 27 .The crashes were reported in Manesar, Sector 18, Jatauli and on SPR Road.Constable Ankit, posted at Traffic Police Station-1, Manesar, was injured after an unidentified vehicle hit him on the Gurgaon-Delhi Expressway (NH-8) near the station around 8.35pm on Aug 26.According to a complaint filed by his mother Kirosta (50), Ankit was waiting by the roadside for transport to Manesar when the vehicle hit him. He was taken to Fortis Hospital, Manesar. Police said doctors declared him unfit to give a statement.A case under was registered under BNS sections for rash driving and act endangering life or personal safety of others.In the second accident, 11-year-old Kanhaiya Kumar was injured after being hit by a canter near Maruti Gate No. 2 in Sector 18 around 1pm on Aug 27.Kanhaiya had left his home in Palam Vihar on a bicycle around 11.30am. When he did not return, his father Santosh Mandal (47) went looking for him. A traffic constable told Santosh that a boy carrying a bicycle had been hit by a speeding canter.A passerby took Kanhaiya to Manipal Hospital, Palam Vihar. Police said doctors declared him unfit to give a statement.A case under was registered under BNS sections for rash driving and act endangering life or personal safety of others.In the third accident, a woman was killed and her son and pregnant daughter-in-law were injured after a truck hit their motorcycle from behind on Kulana-Pataudi Road near Jatauli on Aug 27.Jagpravesh (27), a resident of Gudhana village, told police he was taking his pregnant wife Pammi to Rama Hospital, Pataudi, for a check-up. His mother Rekha was also travelling with them. Around 9am, a truck hit their motorcycle from behind. He noted the truck’s registration number before its driver fled.Rekha suffered a head injury and died on the spot. Jagpravesh and Pammi were taken to hospital with injuries. A case was registered.The fourth accident claimed the life of Bhim Singh, resident of Milkpur village, after he was hit by an unidentified vehicle on SPR Road shortly after midnight on Aug 27.According to his cousin Suresh Kumar, Bhim had attended a party before being dropped near the Discovery L-1 liquor vend around 12.10am. His vehicle was parked across the road near Anmol Banquet Hall. As Bhim was crossing the road, an unidentified vehicle travelling towards the Gurgaon-Delhi Expressway hit him.He was taken to Medanta Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police later identified him through his relatives and sent the body for post-mortem examination.A case under BNS section for person’s death by a rash or negligent act was registered at Badshahpur police station.Police are investigating all four cases and examining CCTV footage and other evidence to identify the vehicles and drivers involved in the hit-and-run cases.
