Rajkot: Two men were killed when a speeding car rammed their motorcycle from behind on Wednesday morning. The accident took place on the Rajkot-Jamnagar highway near Sanosara Patiya in Dhrol taluka of Jamnagar district, police said.The deceased are Tarshi Shingala (67) and Natudbha Jadeja (64), residents of Layara village.According to police, the victims were friends and were on their way to Sanosara village to meet a mutual friend. Around 10.30am, as they slowed down to take a turn towards the village near Sanosara Patiya, a speeding car coming from Jamnagar allegedly crashed into their motorcycle.The severe collision flung both men onto the road, causing severe head and body injuries. Local residents rushed to their aid and they were shifted to a private hospital in Rajkot in a critical state.Both Shingala and Jadeja succumbed to their injuries during treatment, police said.Dhrol police registered a case against the car driver under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act. Police said further investigation is underway.
