Two Chennai students top Samsung Innovation Campus 2025, get ₹1 lakh each

Chennai: Sivani K, a second-year BSc student of Queen Mary’s College, and Santhosh Kumar S, a first-year MSc student from the University of Madras have been recognised among the top performers from more than 20,000 participants in Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) 2025, a technology skilling programme focused on emerging fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), coding and big data.Sivani developed an IoT-enabled smart traffic management system to improve vehicular flow and reduce congestion. Santhosh created an AI-powered pest detection and control model designed to help farmers identify crop threats at an early stage and improve agricultural productivity.The students were felicitated at Samsung India’s headquarters in Gurugram by J B Park, president and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia. They also visited Samsung’s research, development and design centres in Noida and Delhi and interacted with technology leaders and gained exposure to innovation and product development processes.Samsung India honoured 30 outstanding students under SIC 2025, with each topper receiving a cash award of ₹1 lakh for exceptional performance in one of the four courses — AI, Coding & Programming, IoT and Big Data.
