Times News NetworkRajkot: A tuition teacher has been booked for allegedly branding a four-year-old boy with a hot taveta (roti flipper), for not writing during lessons. Pradhyumnanagar police registered a case against the tuition teacher, Nirali Ashwin, based on a complaint by the child’s uncle, Vishal Yadav, 36, a rickshaw driver.The case was registered on the complaint of the child’s uncle, Vishal Yadav (36), a rickshaw driver, under for causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means and intentional insult to provoke breach of peace.According to the FIR, the boy, who lives in Shyamji Krishnavarma Township in Railnagar, had been attending tuition classes at Ashwin’s residence. The complainant alleged that the Ashwin heated the taveta and branded the child’s left thigh because he was not writing.On being told this by the child’s mother, Gayatri Yadav, Vishal went to the teacher’s house to seek an explanation.According to the complaint, the teacher admitted that she had punished the child for not writing. The FIR further states that she later got aggressive, used abusive language and told the family: “Do whatever you want.”Preliminary police investigations indicate the boy had been attending tuition classes at the teacher’s residence for about six months. The child was taken to Rajkot City Civil Hospital, where doctors provided primary treatment before discharging him.
