Jaipur: BJP national president Nitin Nabin Friday countered leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi’s questioning of BJP’s continued electoral victories, saying the ruling party’s confidence comes from its record of public service and the trust it has managed to foster among people.“Those who ask how we will continue to remain in govt for 30 years should understand that it is the spirit of service that keeps us going,” Nabin said while addressing a ‘Seva Sankalp Sabha’ at Dadiya near Jaipur.“Rahul Gandhi ji, your father used to say that of every rupee sent from Delhi, only 15 paise reached the poor. PM Modi took note of this and said that if one rupee is sent from Delhi, the entire amount should reach the poor’s account,” he added.Detailing Modi govt’s achievements, Nabin said more than four crore houses were built for the poor and toilets constructed in homes of around 12 crore poor women. These welfare schemes, he added, had strengthened people’s trust in BJP.

The event was attended by BJP representatives elected in the recent municipal elections, and also by state govt ministers and MLAs, who reached the venue in the same bus.In the morning, Nabin met ministers and MPs at CM’s residence, and in the evening, he addressed a section of youth at the city’s Birla Auditorium.Nabin and CM Sharma also launched 929 separate development works worth Rs 2,636 crore, transferred Rs 400 crore to 36 lakh beneficiaries through DBT and flagged off 90 campaign vehicles for the upcoming panchayat polls.
