Gorakhpur: Rabindranath Tagore, the Nobel laureate poet, philosopher and educationist, was remembered at a solemn tribute programme organised by Aadharshila Parivar at in Gorakhnath on Friday on the occasion of his death anniversary.The event began with floral tributes to Tagore’s portrait, followed by reflections on his life, literary legacy and enduring philosophy by writers, educationists, artists and social workers.Presiding over the programme, Aadharshila Parivar president and senior homoeopathic physician Roop Kumar Banerjee said that remembering Tagore is akin to enlightening oneself. He described the poet as a symbol of Indian culture, human values and universal brotherhood, adding that his writings continue to inspire generations with messages of love, compassion and humanity.Patron Prem Narayan Srivastava highlighted the timeless relevance of Tagore’s teachings. Educationist Prof Alak Rai and theatre artiste Partho Chatterjee presented Rabindra Sangeet, while senior theatre personality Tamal Acharya spoke on Tagore’s celebrated story *Kabuliwala* and its humanistic appeal.Advocate Pooja Gupta said Tagore belonged not only to India but to the entire world, with works that promote peace and harmony. Aadharshila Parivar secretary Deepak Chakravarty ‘Nishant’ also spoke about Tagore’s contribution to literature and Indian culture.The programme concluded with a collective rendition of the Rabindra Sangeet *Aguner Parashmoni Chhoao Prane*, offering a musical tribute to the legendary poet.
