Bengaluru: The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has asked developer of SNN Raj Etternia apartment, where one of the tilted 18-storey apartment towers tilted, to submit a detailed demolition proposal before granting final approval for razing the structure, officials said.The civic body has constituted a committee comprising officials from GBA, BDA, fire and emergency services, disaster management authorities, Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Ltd (BSWML), Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) and other departments to scrutinise the proposal to demolish the structure near Kudlu Gate off Harluru.“The buildings are located very close to each other, making this a highly sensitive exercise.

The authority has also sought a detailed debris-management plan. Officials said the developer has been advised to consult agencies like fire services, disaster management, KSPCB, Bescom and Rera and obtain their inputs while preparing the proposal.Officials indicated that demolition is inevitable given the condition of the structure, but stressed that approval would be granted only after experts review the proposal.Meanwhile, GBA has issued a notice to empanelled structural engineer who had certified the building’s structural stability, on the basis of which the occupancy certificate (OC) was issued.The 18-storey apartment tower came under scrutiny after it developed a noticeable tilt, prompting authorities to cancel its OC and initiate steps towards demolition.
