Panaji: The Command Area Development (CAD) Board of the Goa Tillari Irrigation Project has deferred a proposal to denotify 3.3 lakh sqm of command area land at Dhargalim for Delta Corp after the firm failed to submit all the required documents.Water resources minister Subhash Shirodkar said the incomplete documentation prevented a decision. He also said it has come to light that a road has been constructed, or may be constructed, on the same property. The board will seek details on the road construction and place the proposal again before the board.More than a year after the state cabinet decided to denotify the 3.3 lakh sqm command area for the casino firm, Shirodkar had said govt would not proceed with the denotification. The cabinet decision was contrary to the Goa State Amritkal Agriculture Policy, 2025, which bans the conversion of agricultural fields for non-agricultural use and aims at restoring abandoned khazans and fallow fields.The proposed “integrated resort development project” at Dhargalim includes three hotels, a convention centre, a multiplex, retail space, a water park, banquet facilities, and a children’s entertainment area. State govt also waived Rs 5.5 crore sought by the WRD as notional charges.
