Varanasi: Ballia police on Friday arrested three wanted accused in connection with the alleged rape of a mentally disabled girl and for allegedly supporting the main accused.According to police, the complainant filed an application at Ubhaon police station on Thursday, alleging that her mentally disabled daughter was repeatedly raped by Rajnath Prasad, a resident of Shahpur Afga, resulting in her pregnancy.The complainant also alleged that when she went to Prasad’s house to confront him, his son, Anil Kashyap, and Bhola abused her and threatened to kill her.Based on the complaint, a case was registered under Sections 64(2)(k), 64(2)(m), 352 and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.On Friday, SHO Dinesh Pathak and his team, acting on a tip-off, arrested Rajnath from a hotel in Buxar, Bihar. He was brought to the police station, where legal formalities were completed before he was produced in court.Later, sub-inspector Sumit Kumar received information that Anil and Bhola were present at their residence. Police said the two allegedly refused to comply with a notice issued under Section 35(3) of the BNSS, following which they were arrested. Legal formalities were completed and they were sent to court.
