Hyderabad: Congress leader and Telangana govt adviser Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Thursday demanded an apology from Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan, accusing him of making irresponsible remarks that hurt the sentiments of the people of Telangana.Shabbir Ali said Pawan Kalyan’s comments on alleged opposition to the national anthem and national song in Telangana were baseless, and added that Pawan Kalyan was seeking to create a controversy where none existed. Shabbir Ali alleged that such statements were aimed at generating political attention and promoting divisive politics in the state.Stating that Telangana has consistently upheld constitutional values, secularism and national unity, Shabbir Ali said attempts to portray the state otherwise were misleading. He also questioned Jana Sena’s political relevance in Telangana, pointing to the party’s poor performance in the 2023 assembly elections and the 2026 municipal polls. While affirming that every political party has the right to contest elections in Telangana, he said leaders should refrain from making statements that could damage communal harmony or offend regional sentiments.Shabbir Ali urged Pawan Kalyan to withdraw his remarks and focus on his responsibilities in Andhra Pradesh
