Chennai: Retail jewellery brand Tanishq will focus on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region and the US markets as part of its overseas expansion plans. A division of Titan Company, it currently has 30 outlets across Singapore, West Asia and the US.Arun Narayan, CEO, jewellery division, Titan Company, told TOI that the focus would be largely on the US, the UAE and a few other countries in the region, including Kuwait and Oman. “We are looking to get closer to the Indian diaspora, which has settled in many parts of the world. We also have a long history and cultural relationship with the Middle East. Initially, we opened in Dubai and then expanded into the US,” he said while launching Narumugai, its uncut diamond open Polki collection, here on Thursday.Asked about the impact of the West Asia crisis on the jewellery business, he said, “We are seeing some obvious impact of the war in the GCC. Even there, whenever there are periods of calm, such as a ceasefire, we are witnessing a revival in customer demand.” However, the conflict in West Asia has not had any impact on its jewellery business in India, where the company operates 540 outlets, he added. On average, Tanishq adds 50 stores, including 10-15 overseas outlets, every year. In FY25-26, the jewellery division reported a total consolidated income of Rs 67,602 crore, excluding bullion sales. Narayan said the company was targeting to double its revenue over the next planning cycle, ending FY30. “Moreover, our current market share in the organised jewellery segment is 8%, which will increase to 10% over the next couple of years,” he added.Ends/YK
